pay it forward

There have been so many posts about people jumping into to help. From donations, to sewing masks, to food runs and neighborly gestures, the acts of kindness are warming and inspiring. When it comes to our littles, these life lessons are invaluable to teach! But they are also holistically beneficial to all of us, no matter the age.

Sharing and connecting with others on an emotional level, can in return bring great value and all the feel-good vibes coming right back your way.

We’ve been striking out daily to spread some good cheer and show our gratitude and support of those around us.

Here are some fun ideas to share:

  • Craft cards & Thank You’s – the perfect craft and endless possibilities. Plus, adults can easily write a card too! We pop it in a mail to a loved one, friend, or someone we don’t even know, like senior citizens who need a smile. Try just putting a card or pretty picture in a neighbors mailbox and see what happens (but please wash your hands first!)
  • Creating Fun Facts and posting them on the telephone poles around the neighborhood. It’s a little entertainment for families as they stroll the same path. A great family activity too to put 10 or so ideas together! Next up: Trivia!?!
  • Sidewalk chalk – leave a message or a fun picture for neighbors walking by, delivery people, the animals, I mean who cares? Best part is the rain washes away the canvas and you get to start all over again.
  • Mailbox decorating – give the mail lady a little smile, or the neighbors walking by. We haven’t done this just yet but it’s on our horizon….weather permitting!
  • Other fun ideas
    • Door drops of goodies to neighbors or loved ones (surprises are the BEST!)
    • Buying local carryout or delivery (support your small businesses)
    • Donate online (we’ve done plenty of that!)
    • Foster a shelter pet (seriously considering!)
    • Amazon and send to the next person you think of – with a little note of sunshine. Who doesn’t love a good surprise!

Share your own good deeds. Let’s keep the smiles going.  Cheers!
