spring clean your sinuses

Let’s face it, the allure of spring cleaning has likely faded in your household. Spice cabinets organized, old clothes purged, but there is still one place you likely haven’t touched yet. Your sinuses.

Sounds bizarre, but honestly, they are your first line defense to immunity. Every breath you take, your little nose fibers are doing their part to block pathogens, debris and lots of yucky airborne materials.

Now it’s time to do your part proactively.

Try a Eucalyptus Face Steam Bath

The main chemical components of Eucalyptus radiata are eucalyptol and alpha-terpineol, making it an ideal oil to promote feelings of clear breathing and open airways. It’s natural cleansing abilities (for skin, air and even surfaces) make it a great one to add to your daily preventative routine

An old school facial steam bath will do the trick, if you don’t have access to a proper steam shower. Grab a giant bowl, boil some water (carefully!) and add it to the bowl. Add 1-2 drops of Eucalyptus oil to the bowl. Lean over it, draping a towel over the back of your head, neck and shoulders. Inhale and exhale through the nose, taking long, intentionally breaths as you do both. Repeat for up to 10 minutes, as many times a day as you can!

Remember to be safe with that giant bowl of boiling water. And to use high grade essential oils since you’ll be directly inhaling it. You can buy it here if you don’t have it on hand.
